UDOT warns Utahns to brace for heavy travel over spring break

Despite the pandemic, the Utah Department of Transportation expects heavy traffic this weekend as students and families head out of town for spring break.

Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes Friday on Interstate 15 in Salt Lake and Davis counties, whether traveling north or south. UDOT expects the most traffic congestion from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Salt Lake County, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Davis County’s southbound freeway lanes, and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Davis County’s northbound freeway lanes.

UDOT said heavy traffic could also impact U.S. 191 in Moab, U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon, and I-15 in St. George.
